The Gold Standard in PM certifications

The PMP is regarded by many as the Gold Standard in project management certifications, including CIO Magazine and Forbes.  Project professionals in more than 200 countries have earned and maintained their PMP certification. By achieving the certification, you add to your professional credibility.

Demonstrate your professionalism

Getting the PMP certification is not trivial! You need to meet eligibility requirements in terms of education and experience, and you also need to study hard to pass the exam. People willing to go through the process are demonstrating to their colleagues, employers and clients that they are really taking project management seriously.

Increase your earning potential

Whilst this is not guaranteed, you will certainly enhance your chances of getting a raise in salary.  Several studies (e.g. this one) have found a significant positive differential in the salaries of project managers holding the PMP credential compared to those who don’t.

Enhance your skills

Firstly, you will need perseverance to achieve your certification. You will also round out your existing knowledge, and have the opportunity to review the latest thinking in project management. Since January 2021, the PMP exam follows the new Exam Content Outline which emphasizes knowledge and skills in People, Processes and Business Strategy. The exam also focuses on agile, waterfall and hybrid approaches. 50% of the exam is based on agile and hybrid approaches.

Places you ahead of the competition

If an employer is looking for a project manager, and all other things being equal, they are more likely to select a PMP credential holder than a non-credential holder, as the certification offers an objective way of differentiating between candidates.
